Unleashing Your True Authenticity: Rip Me Out The Plastic

I recently had a fascinating conversation about my blog with someone who was curious about how I decide what to post. I explained that my life isn't confined to a single dimension; it's more like a perplexing puzzle, comprised of various elements, and I'm open to sharing them all. I'm not limited to a single topic; instead, I explore the diverse, intricate, and multifaceted aspects of life.

The Rollercoaster of Life

Life, much like a rollercoaster, can sometimes tilt more in one direction than another on certain days – and that's perfectly fine with me! It doesn't always have to be a balanced, equal distribution. The variety and diversity of the many facets that make up who I am are at the core of my essence, and my blog reflects that authenticity. I'm committed to staying true to myself and sharing the whole me.

So, why is it important to be your whole self and tell your whole story? Well, the truth is, you might not excel in everything you try, and you might not have the most glamorous appearance, but it's not about perfection. It's about dedicating yourself wholeheartedly to your calling and life purpose, striving to do your best, and finding contentment in that effort. It's also about embracing your true self and sharing it with the world, while recognizing that your unique journey and the process you shape are what truly matter.

Staying True To Your Core

Staying true to your core requires a clear understanding of what you want and what you stand for. When you firmly uphold your principles and values, it's easier to remain authentic. Don't allow others to sway you or change who you are. Of course, there may be moments when you need to adjust or adapt to different situations, but the key is to always stay within the boundaries of your core identity.

Know Your Boundaries

And within those boundaries, it's crucial to recognize when it's time to walk away. There's no shame in realizing that a conversation, a person, a situation, or an environment doesn't align with your true self and values. Sometimes, the most empowering thing you can do is to say goodbye and move on to something that resonates with your authenticity.

Rip Me Out The Plastic

In the past, I was the quintessential "yes man." Obligations and others' expectations ruled my life. Saying 'no' seemed impossible because I dreaded the thought of letting anyone down. I lived in constant fear of disappointing others and barely had time to contemplate what I truly wanted.

Then, one night, a few years ago, while sitting in my dimly lit room, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had lost myself, and I was done playing that game. It was time for some serious self-discovery. I started saying 'no' when necessary, not as an act of rebellion, but as an act of self-preservation. I realized that to be of value to those I loved and cared about, I first had to be valuable to myself.

As I embraced my true self, my life began to shift. I pursued my passions, explored things I'd always wanted to, and spent more quality time with family. My happiness took center stage, and stress and worry became mere background noise.

So, as you navigate your own path, remember to be your whole self and share your whole story. You're a unique blend of experiences, passions, and perspectives, and that's your strength. Embrace it, stay true to it, and never let anyone or anything dim your authenticity. Keep shining, and your story will inspire and empower others to do the same.

If you've reached this point, you're undoubtedly someone who values learning and seeks opportunities for personal growth and improvement.

Living Authentically

Identifying your core values and navigating situations where you may need to make adjustments while staying true to yourself is an important aspect of personal growth and decision-making. Here's a step-by-step guide, that I have used, to help you with this process:

1. Self-Reflection:

- Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can think without distractions.

- Journal your thoughts and experiences. Reflect on your life, significant events, and past decisions.

- Ask yourself: What principles and beliefs have been consistently important to me?

2. Brainstorm and Prioritize Your Values:

-Think about your values. Which ones are non-negotiable, and which ones are more flexible?

- Consider which values have the greatest impact on your happiness and sense of purpose.

3. Seek Feedback:

- Ask trusted friends and family for their perspective. They can offer valuable insights into your values and how they see you living them out.

4. Make Adjustments:

- If you've identified situations where you've compromised your values, consider how you can make adjustments in the future. What can you do differently next time?

- Determine if some of your values need to be re-prioritized or if they need to be adjusted to better fit your current life circumstances.

5. Set Boundaries:

- Establish clear boundaries that align with your values. When you're faced with situations that might challenge your values, be prepared to assert your boundaries.

Remember that the process of identifying and living in alignment with your core values is ongoing. It requires self-awareness, commitment, and the willingness to adapt as your values evolve over time. Stay true to yourself and your values, and you'll find greater fulfillment and authenticity in your life.
